Privacy policy

Octofelt connects table recordings with the Octofelt replay app for iPhone and Android. This policy describes the information used to provide those features.
Information we process
- Account information: your verified email address and an account identifier from Apple or Google, your display name, and an optional avatar you upload. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
- Table and session information: tables you own, seat and attendance records, table-owner entries, points and settlements, favorites, and replay links you create.
- Recordings and replays: table video and audio supplied for a session, and the hands and actions prepared from those recordings.
- Device and service information: table-device identifiers, online status, Wi-Fi network names used for table setup, and operational logs needed to run and troubleshoot the service.
- Waitlist: if you join the list on this website, the email address you enter, the setup you picked, and, if you arrived through a link that names where it was shared (such as a forum post), that short source name.
- Invitations: an email address entered for a seat in a recorded session, used to invite that person to Octofelt. Every invitation has an unsubscribe link.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, manage tables and seating, prepare and play replays, keep favorites, show session results, and provide sharing and support. A waitlist email is used only to write to you about Octofelt hardware, such as prices and availability. We do not sell personal information, display advertising, or use advertising identifiers to track you across apps and websites.
Who can see it
Access to sessions depends on your participation and table permissions. A table owner can access their table's sessions. Other players can access the hands available to them from the time they were seated. Other players' cumulative results are not made public.
A replay link you create allows anyone with the link to view the selected hand until the link expires or you revoke it. Share links only with people you intend to see that hand.
AI assistants you connect
You can connect an AI assistant you choose, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your Octofelt account. Before it connects, Octofelt shows what it will be able to read and asks you to approve.
Once connected, it can read the hands you can see in the app: each night's date, table and times, and for each hand the board, every action and amount, the pots, who won and how long each action took; players' display names and seats; and hole cards as in the app's replay, including cards the table read but nobody showed. It cannot see email addresses, real names, photos or video, or anything about money, and it cannot change anything.
What it reads is processed by the company that runs the assistant, under that company's own privacy policy. You can disconnect an assistant at any time in its own settings or in the Octofelt app under Me → AI assistants.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare for hosting, storage, delivery and email. Apple and Google provide sign-in. Recordings may be processed by service providers to prepare replays. Information is used for providing and operating the service.
Retention and deletion
We retain information as needed to provide the service and maintain session records. You can delete your account in the app under Me → Settings → Delete Account. Your account association, email, avatar and personal display name are removed; tables you own are released. Shared session records may remain for other participants, with your account association removed. Backups and operational logs are retained for limited operational periods. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask to be removed or the list ends; write to us to be removed.
Signing out stops access on that device; it does not delete your account. Contact us if you need help with access or deletion.
Your choices
You choose whether to add an avatar, save favorites or share a hand. The table owner is responsible for informing participants and obtaining any consent needed for recording. You can manage relevant device permissions in your phone's settings.
Children
Octofelt is intended for adults and is not directed to children.
